Shredders is the new rap project from Doomtree members P.OS, Sims, Lazerbeak, and Paper Tiger. Their debut album Dangerous Jumps was released on Doomtree Records in late 2017. Created over the course of a prolific six month break, Dangerous Jumps bursts with carefree energy and booming bass. P.O.S and Sims consistently one-up each other with dizzying wordplay and anthemic hooks over an unrelenting, uptempo soundtrack scored by veteran producers Lazerbeak and Paper Tiger. First single “Xanthrax” was premiered by the one and only Dwyane “The Rock” Johnson on his HBO hit series Ballers and the group has had multiple songs placed in recent UFC, Need For Speed, and MLB video games. Shredders have hit the road hard in 2018, running circles around North America with European dates and festival plays planned throughout the summer. They’ve shared the stage with a diverse range of acclaimed artists including Run The Jewels, The Underachievers, Bishop Briggs, Astronautalis, and Paper Diamond.
Dizzy Fae is a 19-year old alternative R&B artist based in St. Paul. As a student of dance (TU Dance) and vocal performance (Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Arts), Dizzy developed an eclectic style that has landed her on stages alongside The Internet, Kehlani, Poliça, Empress Of, and Jorja Smith.
The group originally emerged from Minneapolis in 2011 when Ryan Olson, GAYNGS leader, producer and Minneapolis' master of curation, began collaborating with Leaneagh on a batch of synthesizer and percussion-heavy arrangements he had lying around. The resulting debut, 2012's Give You The Ghost, immediately garnered international acclaim, with Rolling Stone hailing it as "the sound of heartbreak and celebration happening simultaneously" and Q praising it as "a bewitching, urgent, magical debut.
After quickly making her mark on the Minneapolis music scene, 21-year-old singer/rapper/producer Ness Nite left for New York City in March, with a Los Angeles move planned for later this year. The artist born Vanessa Reliford proved to be a musical wunderkind while in Minnesota, finding an audience and acclaim before she so much as released her debut EP. She deftly balances genres, crafting a forward-thinking yet intimate take on R&B that brings to mind contemporaries like FKA Twigs, SZA, and Kelela.
The Rope is a rock band from Minneapolis, Minnesota, founded in 2010 by Jesse Hagon (Vocals), Michael Browning (Guitar), Sam Richardson (Bass Guitar), Ben Rickel (Drums) and Paul Teravaskis (Keys).
Since their debut in 2005, the Minneapolis-based duo of Matthew Kazama and Hideo Takahashi has excelled at tossing elements of late-'90s mathcore and classic Reagan-era punk against the wall with disarming power and impressively fresh results. Their 2010 release, Minnesota: Mouth To Mouth (Nice and Neat Records), sticks to that formula, but with a smidge more spit-polish shining up their succinct sense of melody.
Circus of the West infuses pop melodies and rock energy with lyrics about identity and connection. Their debut full-length, We’ll See Ourselves Out, was produced by Adam Levy of The Honeydogs. The 11-song collection reflects on hope, loss, and losing control. “This project is about shedding false skin,” says Edwin Caldie, who shares songwriting credits with Joel Leviton on the album. “We’re seeing ourselves out and inviting others to do the same.”
Kitten Forever is a Minneapolis-based drums and bass trio. Their distinctly danceable and minimalist punk rock is infused with pop sensibilities and a streamlined, energetic performance where Laura Larson, Corrie Harrigan, andLiz Elton switch instruments seamlessly throughout their live shows as well as in their recorded work. Kitten Forever believes in each other, pets, magic, and you.
The Gentlemen's Anti-Temperance League is a string quartet that brings the smoky rhythms and sizzling leads of Prohibition swing into the 21st century.
Traditional Ska, Rocksteady, early Reggae, and Soul is the name of the game, and we play to win! The Prizefighters have been slinging their Jamaican grooves to Midwest audiences for the past 13 years. They recently toured Europe and have shared stages with Toots and the Maytals, The English Beat, The Slackers, Derrick Morgan, Stranger Cole, and many more ska/reggae classics. Whether you're 8 or 80, we're sure to put a funky dance in your step.
